This is how I feel today.

I'm pretty much having a quarter life crisis every other day as of late.

I think I might need a vacation.

Be back blogging once I've pulled myself back together.

Today is my sweet Father's birthday.

Oh how I love my Dad.

He is perfection in my eyes.

What I would give to be as good of a person as Dave Smith.

While he was visiting us over the weekend I was blessed to have him and Adam give me a blessing. He always taught us kids the importance of have the power of the priesthood in our future homes and I was so incredibly happy the day I married a man who shared that same attitude. To have them stand together in this act was a day I will always cherish. I seriously am thankful for the strength our religion gives me.

I love you with all my heart Daddy.
Happy Birthday!

P.s. I would wear this party dress in celebration... if I had it of coarse.

We had a super fun weekend with my parents. We definitely ate some grand meals including...

John Wayne Tacos
Omelets
Ribs & smoked apple bacon turkey from Goodwood
Steak & baked Idaho potatoes
Buckwheat pancakes {gluten free of course}
Sweet potato fries from Gurus

... basically we ate like kings.

P.s. Oh what I would give to be able to cook in that lovely oven!

goT MiLK?

{call me crazy but I love coming across the got milk pictures in magazines}

I have been on a hunt for a replacement for milk and here is what I have discovered.

There are the following {as far as I am aware of} :

Milk
Soy Milk
Almond Milk
Hemp Milk
Rice Milk
Goats Milk
Lactose free Milk

I have tried all but the last one. I am crazy allergic to the first three, which is a bummer because if I had my choice from the list I would pick Almond Milk. Pretty tasty stuff. Hemp milk is probably this sickest thing I have ever tried. I would not recommend it... and I can drink/eat just about anything. Rice milk is kind of grainy. Hence the rice. This is about the only thing I can tolerate, but it's not the healthiest. I have been drinking this for the last 3-4 years and I'm a little tired of it. I attempted goats milk yesterday. I actually grew up on this stuff due to the same allergies when I was a toddler. I figured how bad could it be, right? Well, let me tell you Adams exact words {because of coarse I made him try it}... "If you could make a taste of what the Zoo smells like, it would be this drink." Don't worry that he said that as I was drinking it! Blaaa. The even worse part is that the taste lingers even after brushing your teeth. Last of all is the Lactose free and yes I will be purchasing this just to say I have tried them all.

Is there some unknown milk substitute out there that I am forgetting?

We spent last night celebrating the birthday of our awesome friend Lyns.

We enjoyed some good food, cupcakes, laser tag, and arcade games.

Yes, we are all adult and yes we are still young at heart.

One thing I love about being around my 5 girlfriends...
they bring out the best in me and remind me of who I am capable of being.

I found out today that we have company traveling to come see us for a few days!

My brother Nick and his adorable family will be joining up with us tonight. I discovered some weird things about myself this morning while anxiously cleaning our little home in preparation for their visit.

When we have company I get a little OCD. I found myself cleaning EVERYTHING. We are talking from ceilings to floors. Along with the normal vacuuming and dusting I watered our one and only plant that I never water, I changed all the burnt out light bulbs, and washed all our rugs. What the?

Do you have any weird corks about yourself when people come to visit your home?

Just getting ready for my day at work. I'm not going to lie. I kinda wish I could play instead. You know... dress up, go to a dance, and then jump in a pool after. Every time I watch "It's a Wonderful Life" I am reminded to put that on my to-do list. Any fun plans for you this weekend?

{re-living the dream}

On Sunday, 7-25-10, we hit our 2 year anniversary. We celebrated by driving up to Salt Lake City (where our story began) Saturday evening and going to dinner at a yummy Italian restaurant called Biaggis and catching the flick Salt. We ended the night at the Little Grand America hotel. Ahh...Perfection.

Dearest Husband of Mine,

I am everything with you. My favorite part of the day is any minute spent with you. I love how much we say "I love you" in a day. You have the best heart and the kindest soul that you tend to share with me the most. Thank you for being so patient with me our first year and for being my hero our second year. I can't wait for our third. I love you most!

LOve yOu,
Syd

I discovered something the other weekend.
Just because it's cold out doesn't mean you can't have a fun bonfire.
I actually recommended having one if you haven't already done so.

I think you will enjoy your night out of the house.
Hot chocolate with roasted mallows...
you will thank me for it.

i FeeL...

This picture makes me feel so many things. Today I feel thankful for the memories of sitting in Primary as a giddy little girl singing "I Love to See the Temple" from the top of my lungs, and then after thinking to myself how cool it was that my family would be together forever. Funny how some things don't change.

3. I loved waking up to the Lake in all it's glory. Even though I can't really swim, and I have a slight fear of swimming pools, I don't think I could live anywhere with out a river, lake, or maybe even ocean {the thought of sharks puts that one at the end of the list} near by.

We made it! I can honestly say this last year as been the time of my life. Life before the 2 of us just wasn't complete. I get tears just thinking about how lucky I am. I have Adam. Enough said. He truly does deserve some kind of metal for living with a me...Mrs Random Never Know What To Expect. Bravo Love! We have had our many little adventures with bumps along the way...the good and the not as good, that I will always cherish. What I adore most over the year though has been the days of blasting the tunes, dance around the house together, and forgetting all worries for a few brief minutes. That will never get old. Thanks for being my number one reason to be happy in life. Love, love, love you!

I am really wishing I had these legs right about now. Why? Because mine are covered with over 40 bites from the blood sucking insects of Summer. It costs to play outside.

I'm random. I like random adventures. Adam was made for me. He took me on a random adventure. I'm so terribly happy.

Love and I just signed up for a 5K this weekend in the small town of Oakley Idaho. I can't wait to breath in some the fresh country air. I'm praying that no dogs will join in the fun.

To my free spirited friend on her birthday...
I will cherish every adventure we ever had, every cliff that we jumped off of, every evening out on the river wakeboarding, every sleepover we attempted to stay up all night, every conversation that involved laughing, and every example that you set for me on just plain being happy in life. Hayhay, I miss you dear friend.

I was tickled pink when I received a package in the mail from one of my dearest friends and even more tickled when I opened it and found that it was a book on one of my most admired women...besides my sweet mother. A wonderful little book about Audrey Hepburn and her way of life. I'm diving in right now so gotta run. Thanks Jessa.
