giRLie GIrL

(A typical Sunday on the farm)

Last Sunday was Mothers Day.
We spent the weekend in Idaho celebrating with my lovely mom.
I wanted to share some great advice from the G-bird...

Always have fresh polish on your nails and toenails. It will make you feel pretty.
{I gave it a go with bright pink.
Not going to lie, I did feel pretty... then again I am a girlie girl.}

What's some favorite advice from your wonderful Mother?

My mom always taught me to laugh at myself. That has always helped me through the years.
I love your mom. Speaking of feeling pretty, I'm thinking I need a little of that, maybe I'll paint my nails tonight:)

I use a SLR EOS Cannon Rebel. I was my Christmas gift. The thing I love about it is it is very understandable... not too complicated for me. The more I learn the more I figure out all it can do... I also love that in the future if I wanted to I could buy more lenses and attach them.

I sis-in-law Mariss swears by the Nikon. I think it is personal preference. She had a Nikon on the same level as my canon and she just sold it for a more complicated (more expensive Nikon). If you want to look into Nikons you could email her at moosetrek@gmail.com I love her pics.

When I was researching I asked Tiffany (Jason's sis)... She did an entire post about cameras (I ended up getting the one she recommended) here is the link to her post http://the-jacks.blogspot.com/2009/12/which-kind-of-camera-is-good-for-me.html

THe B&H website is great.

Ijust thought I'd share what I found out before I bought.

Syd, I aDORE your pictures and your blog!! I thought you already had an SLR. I love your creativity. Even if you went for a higher range camera than me, you'd probably pay it off with taking pictures. I love having ours for family picts... so worth it... Now if I just had your vision and talent:)

LOVE YOU!

My mom always said "The choices we make today determine the life we lead tomorrow." She also has told me to always keep my house clean, quit growing out my bangs over and over, and stop telling people every thought that pops into my head. ;)

That IS good advice! I think I'll take her up on that! (especially since my 2 year old called me out yesterday for having chipped toe nail polish!! haha!)

My mom always told us to SMILE ... it's contagious, did you know?? (I honestly think it's true!) You never know when a friendly face will make someone's day! :)

My mom always told me not to wish my life away. Live and enjoy the time being.
