I'm thankful for the 2 mouth watering dinners that we had {one with friends, one with the Smith family}. Food is a favorite thing of mine, so when I have amazing food I'm as happy as can be. I have to say that this Thanksgiving has been my favorite. I will always remember turkey day of 09.
I'm thankful for all the movie theaters all over the world. Over the last week I was able to see New Moon with my friends, and The Blind Side with some of my family. Loved them both so much that I will probably have to see them again while they are still in the theater. While on the subject I must say I am also thankful for movie theater popcorn. There is nothing like it.
I'm thankful for Adam. Seriously, couldn't be anymore in love with him. While we were staying in Idaho for the holiday we had some visitors at my parents house. I became very thankful for guns that night. The husband and my brother Nick were entertained hunting the 5 unwanted guest. Okay, maybe I was a bit sad about the whole thing, but it makes me feel better knowing my mom wont freak out every time she goes outside.
I'm thankful for the beautiful weather we had all week. It's not every Thanksgiving you can actually go outside and play in the yard with the kinder and have a game of football. Of coarse, as always, I'm thankful for the open country. I'm not going to lie, it' s great not being seen every time you walk out your door.
I'm thankful for parents. I'm even more thankful that after 37 years my parents {who rock hard core and I love} got rid of the green beast of a dryer they had and purchased a new one. Well done.
I'm thankful for the day after Turkey day when all City Christmas lights go on. That also means I can start listening to wonderful Christmas music. Falalalala lalalala
I'm thankful for this amazing drink I came across. Sparkling apple-peach...hello! I think i could have downed a whole bottle myself.
I'm thankful for all my siblings and Adam's as well. We laugh ten time harder because of them, which at the end of the day makes life even more perfect. I'm thankful for a healthy body that that allows me to participate in races like this. I don't think I have ever almost thrown up at the end of running...eh I blame the cold air. I'm thankful for supportive communities. We had a wonderful family from my parents area that lost a Dad, and two brothers {whom of which had a family and a fiance of their own} die in a plane crash over the Summer. The annual Turkey trout this year was in memory of them while half of the proceeds went to this family. Mingo's, you are all still in our prayers.
I'm thankful for all our nieces and nephews. I recently read the conference talk by President Henry B. Eyring titled, 'Our Perfect Example'. He mentioned a memory he had of watching a room full of children singing the song, 'I'm Trying to be Like Jesus'. He said after they were done with their song..."It seemed to me that they were not just singing;they were declaring their determination. Jesus Christ was their example. To be like Him was their fixed goal. And their eager looks and their shining eyes convinced me that they had no doubts. They expected to succeed, They believed that the instruction of the Savior to be perfect was not a hope but a command. And they were sure He had prepared the way." I'm thankful for these sweet kids because I believe just that. I want to be more like them.

Fun syd! Your nieces and nephews are getting so old! I don't even recognize some of them... that is sad for me. Those pictures are darling! We also saw the blind side with my family this weekend and loved it. I have yet to see new moon though. I hope we can see you lots at Christmas time!

That is a great list, Syd. So much to be thankful for this time of year! Also, I hope it's okay - I passed your blog link to my friend at work who is friends with Kirsten Montague (fiance of Jared Mingo who died in plane crash). Small, Small world!
I love your thankful list! Great pictures and great fun. You have an awesome family, and Rupert is just wonderful.
I wanted to see you so bad!... I seemed like when you came into town, we both got pretty busy and could not catch up with each other... that is no excuse for me though. I really wanted to see my Sydlin! We have GOT to make it happened one of these times. You will be hearing from me soon to discuss our next attempt at a rendezvous'. LOVE YOU

Awesome post Syd! You're such an inspirational gal :)
Looks like you all had a great time. Those raccoons are CRAZY. What's the story on those? Five HUGE raccoons just wandering around the Smith farm? Luckily you guys own guns and know how to use them!
Thank you for your mention of the Mingo family! I was Jed's fiance, and I am beyond humbled at the outpouring of support from strangers who have love for people they've never met. Thanks. Thank you Lyndsay, for passing this to Melissa! She let me know about it, and I thought it was so sweet!
