Dearest Daddy,
I just wanted to let you know that your random phone call was my favorite addition to my day. I loved hearing your soothing voice for those few minutes that I was alone at home tonight. How do you make all my worries disappear like that? I must know your secret. It's sometimes hard being away from you and not getting to see you whenever I want. I love that you have taught me to be a strong girl and rely on the Lord when I am weak. I miss you. I love you. I hope you get a bag of M&Ms tomorrow for Valentines Day even though I'm not there to give them to you. Thanks for being such an amazing example of a hard worker all my life. I love that I'm like you in so many ways. Can't wait to see you!
Love,
Baby Cakes
P.S. Adam loves you too!

Sydney, what a sweet letter. If I was an emotional girl I would totally shed a tear. Bummer that I'm made of stone. You know how I feel about little girls, which is pretty awesome about them, but your letter just made me even more excited that we're having a second little girl. I was talking to my mom the other day and my dad got on the phone just to see how I was doing and let me know he had been thinking a lot about me, and that meant sooo much. Anyway, I hope you two love birds have a happy Valentine's Day!

whoopsie, that second Annie comment is really left by me, Lindsey. I was signed on to change my mom's blog background and forgot to sign out :)

That was very sweet. Rachel has developed a good relationship with Ryan and Milly is a Daddy's girl. I'm glad he gets to experience that. You do have a great dad, and he and your mom raised some awesome kids!

That really was sweet Syd. I'm sure your dad was touched. My biggest regret in life is that I didn't have that chance with my dad past the age of 22 :(

sorry I missed you guys Thursday

Your dad is one of the genuinely nice guys in the world. No pretense. No guile. No agenda. No ego. Just unconditional love. You are indeed a lucky girl. Afterall, like he always says, "It ain't no big deal." What a philosophy for life!
