Pre-Thankgiving Feast

I'm starting out this Thanksgiving season with giving thanks for my many amazing friends that I have been blessed to find thus far. For the last 5 years my old roomies and I have created many memories together. It's been fun as we have gotten older and moved along in life to continue getting together, whenever an opportunity presents itself. When ever there is a Holiday around the corner I find it a good time to party. We have had Thanksgiving dinner together a couple times in the past, so this year we had it at our house and it was too good to be true!I took on the challenge of a another turkey this year and luckily it turned out better than ever!

For a bunch of college students we had quite the holiday meal! Everyone brought something magical! I love any excuse to stuff my face with good food.

There were 8 of us total. Kris and Jessa (the girls on the kiddie table) are going to be taking off to New York the first of the year to try out the big city life! Exciting but extremely sad at the same time. We will miss you girls!

The gang... Me, Mel, Jessa, Kris, and Brit. Life is good!

Wow- you're 23 and I'm 47 and I think you've cooked a real turkey more than me. . . that's embarrassing. I need to get over my fright of thinking I don't know how. I've always managed to get us an invite for Thanksgiving and Christmas most years, and on the years I've cooked, I've done a turkey breast or something totally random- like sweet and sour chicken. I know, breaking tradition (it was for Christmas eve-not Thanksgiving) but that was my kids request. I'm going to challenge myself to do a real turkey dinner before the year is over.

I love that you get a recipe and actually follow it in every detail. I rarely do that. No wonder you're a better cook that me! I love your table. Go Martha! Luv ya, Mom

What a fun dinner! You are a pro at pulling events off Syd and I'm impressed with your mad skills. So I totally copied your great idea of putting nuts on the dinner plates and it turned out so cute. Thanks for sharing!
